The objects, systems and proposals detailed below respond to a strategy to relate bodies with the sonic and vibrational experience. To develop a specific architecture, as well as a wide range of tools, starting from very simple resources until reaching designs more complex ones. All devices are accompanied by a guide that allows their reproduction.
The mediators created the electronic devices specifically for INFRA. Their function is to generate an infrasonic spectrum in which the experiences are sustained. Together with the participants, different devices were made, that emphasize different sensory experiences.
The intention is that these devices can be replicated and implemented on various occasions, so that a greater number of deaf people benefit from the research.

INFRA Wavegenerator

Audio wave generator


The INFRA Wavegenerator module is a voltage controlled monophonic sound source.
Most of the timbres are complex in nature, covering a modular analog setup that would require a full box of oscillators, filters, VCAs, waveformers, and ring modulators. It contains sophisticated digital synthesis algorithms, where each algorithm is controlled by two continuously variable parameters under the timbre and color controls, both voltage controllable. The meta-parameters that pass through the key points simultaneously affect several dimensions of the timbre, creating complex movements that would be difficult to generate with a traditional modular configuration.

INFRA 4Polegen

Control wave generator


The INFRA 4Polegen module and its firmware open up new paths for wave control understood as a polymorphic module, where a generic set of inputs and outputs. Its OLED screen allows mapping these inputs and outputs for each application and has four channels within each application. The design of the module is modifiable and adaptable under the parameters of the interface or the modification of firmware.

INFRA Wavform

Sound bank generator


The INFRA Wavform is a module that works under a series of banks and sound stations.
Each of the 16 banks can contain up to 256 stations, with different wave and frequency tables.
The interface allows you to easily move between the banks, scroll through the various stations and archive the results on the MicroSD card, for later playback.

INFRA Oscilloscope

Visualization of waves and frequencies


Multifunction tool that allows to visualize the frequencies and types of wave that are generated from the system.
INFRA Oscilloscope is a platform and a digital tool to see the interactions between the different waves and their levels, allowing users to understand the audio signals and master the rest of the modules by understanding their voltage ranges, forms of control and parameter responses.

Analog / digital tool to generate all kinds of simple and complex waves, used in laboratories and actions by the INFRA team.

SubOsc2

Two low frequency oscillators


Minimalist device that houses two sine wave oscillators, with a trigger button and frequency control for each oscillator. The switches mix the two oscillators in different ways, generating low frequencies, constant frequency pulses (drones), like rhythmic sequences.

Kevin Machine

Square wave oscillator and LPF


Device designed during the Explora Park Exploratory Workshop for Kevin, deaf-blind. Limit the number of knobs and buttons to a minimum, ergonomically positioning them to create an intuitive and efficient interface. Square wave oscillator based on a 555 timer, with frequency and amplitude control. It incorporates a passive low-pass filter (LPF) for crisp low frequencies.

CV Box

Remote control of synthesizers with voltage input


A simple circuit based on a resistive divider powered by a 9v battery. Sends different voltages via a precision knob and potentiometer, to remotely control complex oscillators and devices. It has an ON / OFF switch and a momentary push-button that makes it an expressive and easy-to-use instrument with a simple interface for controlling more elaborate systems.

It operates like a normal amplification system, since it has an amplifier of up to 6000w with DSP (digital sound processing) and a speaker or speaker of 18 "and 800w. The input signal is amplified by the system, being able to be calibrated to resonate the room in which it runs.

Two-channel listening system and a membrane suspended in the center, composed of a globe, which allows you to feel and visualize the vibration and the types of waves that are generated from the system.

Light reflection system that is made up of a sub-bass module (INFRA B1), a light reflector and a series of mylar and aluminium membranes, or that allow to reflect sound in light.
In the space an effect of interaction and dynamics reactive to sound is generated.

Simple device made with a frame, highly transparent fabric and high-density lights, which allows generating amplified sign language dialogues.

Audiovisual feedback


Installation that relates the sound and movement of the sea with a linked system that reproduces those sounds in mechanical waves that make a microuniverse vibrate.
